Governor Okezie Ikpeazu says his administration is ever ready to partnering the Church and the private sector in his unrepentant efforts towards revolutionizing all sectors of the State.

Governor Ikpeazu was speaking while commissioning the road leading to Assemblies of God Church, Umungasi Aba, off Aba -Owerri road constructed by the church using the rigid pavement technology introduced by his government as part of ceremonies to mark the 2022 National Men’s Day of the Church.

He said he would offset the bills they must have incurred while constructing the rigid pavement road and assured that he would asphalt the road as well as provide the gate the church requested for.

The Governor described the theme of their programme “Stand in the Gap” as apt, saying that government needs more people and groups that would stand in the gap to bring about development of the State.

According to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, many of the roads he has fixed are federal government owned roads, adding that his administration fixed them in order to make lives easy for Abians and her residents.

The State Chief Executive said God’s hands is on his administration, hence under him, the State has witnessed peace and security and requested for continuous prayers of the church and assured that Abia tomorrow would be better than today.

Speaking earlier, the state PDP Governorship candidate for the 2023 general elections Professor Uche Ikonne said that the church has through prayers sustained the Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu administration which is also accountable to adjudging Abia state as the most peaceful and secured.

Professor Ikonne said that the Governor has through his leadership acumen established a footprint for posterity, promising that if elected in 2023, he will sustain and improve on the gains of the present administration.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Works, Dr Bob Ogu lauded the Church for partnering the government towards changing the narrative, and revealed that Governor Ikpeazu has fixed 80% of the roads in Aba and has continued to show commitment towards leaving the state better.

In their speeches, the President Men’s ministry of the church Elder Jonathan Nwosu and the General Secretary Elder Chimaobi Umechuruba said that the national men’s day celebration offers them opportunity to work for God and thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his infrastructural revolution in Aba .

Our government House correspondent Ezechukwu Adimoha reports that Highlights of the event was prayers made for the Governor and Abia State government while the  members of the National and State Assembly among other top government functionaries accompanied the Governor to the event.
