The Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu says his administration will complete the Omuma, Faulks, Cemetery and other road projects under construction in Aba before the end of his Tenure in 2023
Governor Ikpeazu who gave the assurance while speaking at the second session of the Seventeenth Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Aba held at the St Philip’s Anglican Church, Eziukwu Aba attributed all his achievements so far to the earnest prayers of men of God.
He advised the electorate to hold candidates for the forth coming 2023 general elections accountable especially those who make bogus promises and ask them to showcase their achievements in the past.
The Governor while describing as apt and a call to duty and responsibility the Theme of this year’s Synod, “Occupy Till I Come”, reminded Christians that they would give account of duties entrusted to them on the last day to God.
While noting that there have been a lot of infrastructural development since he assumed the mantle of leadership in 2015, Dr. Ikpeazu promised that more achievements will be recorded before his exit from office.
Addressing the congregation, the PDP Governorship candidate for the 2023 general elections, Professor Uche Ikonne who identified with the sterling achievements of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, noted that the Governor has fought and won many physical and spiritual battles, leading to the completion and commissioning of the first Abia Interchange, peace and security.
Professor Ikonne who also said that Governor Ikpeazu has broken the jinx of stagnation in the state, noted that his reign has ushered in economic prosperity and promised to consolidate on the gains of the present administration, if elected the next Governor.
In an address, the Anglican Bishop of Aba, the Rt Rev Christian Ugwuzor lauded Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for completing the first Abia Interchange which has improved the aesthetics of the Osisioma junction, as well as aided free flow of traffic in the area, in addition to his infrastructural revolution in Aba ,the economic nerve center.
In his sermon, the Bishop of Arochukwu/Ohafia Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Johnson Onuoha appealed to Christians to submit fully to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, who charged them to occupy until he returns.
Our Government House correspondent Ezechukwu Adimoha reports that the member representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency, Chief Chimaobi Ebisike among other top government Officials joined the Governor to the synod.
