The Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has lauded members of the PDP Board of Trustees, BoT for their efforts towards stabilizing the party ahead of the 2023 General Elections.
Governor Ikpeazu, who made the commendation when he received the BoT members led by the Acting Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara at his Umuobiakwa country home said it is for leaders of the party to st and firm in the defence of truth to avoid a repeat of the bitter experiences of the party in 2015.
He noted that he is open to genuine reconciliation that will lead to the overall victory of the PDP in next year’s general elections, assuring that Abia would totally support the party.
While describing Senator Adolphus Wabara as an erudite diplomat, Governor Ikpeazu thanked God and congratulated him on his emergence as the acting BOT Chairman especially at the moment the PDP needs focused and visionary leaders that will stabilize it for a better outing in the 2023 general elections.
The Governor assured the Acting Chairman PDP Board of Trustees of his commitment to help him succeed in bringing all aggrieved members back to the party.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and Acting chairman PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara said he came to present himself to the Governor as the leader of the party in his home state of Abia and the resolve of the board to champion the amicable resolution of the party’s internal crisis with a view to making the party stand strong ahead of the 2023 election.
Senator Wabara said the party is looking up to the likes of Governor Ikpeazu to show them the way forward as one of the respected leaders of the party, pointing out that he is happy to commence his first official engagement in his home state.
Our Government House correspondent, Ezechukwu Adimoha reports that Part of the delegation include former Governor of Enugu State, Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo, former Governor of Kogi State, Dr Ibrahim Idris, a former minister, Aminu Saraki, Chief Shuiabu Oyedokun, a former Minister, Hajiya Zainab Maina, while the State PDP Governorship candidate Professor Uche Ikonne and his running mate, Chief Okey Igwe were among other stakeholders present at the meeting.
