Onyii Wamah

The State Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah has successfully presented a Budget Estimate of Three Hundred and Twenty-One Million, Eight Hundred and Twenty Thousand, Two Hundred and Sixty Naira, Twenty-One Kobo, (#321,820,260.21) for   consideration and approval to the Abia State Planning Commission.

Presenting the budget christened “Budget of Valedictory Economic Expansion and Stability”, at the State Planning Commission, the Head of Service said his vision is to build a focused, disciplined committed and patriotic service that will support government in the development of a strong, United and virle state civil service.

Sir Wamah disclosed that since assumption in office, the state government has been showing commitment in handling issues affecting the Abia work force especially in the area of regular payment of salaries, provision of much needed opportunities in skills acquisition and knowledge, Rehabilitation and renovation of the old Secretariate among others.

The Head of Service added that the introduction of the Biometric Data capturing is to enhance effectiveness and productivity in service and used the forum to call on Permanent Secretaries, Head of Ministries and non-ministerial departments to and devise strategies that will end the decay in the state service.

Earlier, the Chairman 2023 Budget Estimate Committee and Executive Secretary Abia State Planning Commission, Dr Mrs. Nnenna Chikezie lauded the effort of the State Head of Service  in repositioning the State Civil Service especially in the area of training and retraining of Abia workplace while urging him to sustain the termpo.
