US PROMISES NIGERIA ONE MILLION DOLLARS FOR FLOOD VICTIMS.

The United States of America has promised to provide One Million Dollars, in humanitarian assistance for the people affected by flooding in Nigeria.

The US Consulate in Nigeria made this known today in a statement in Abuja endorsed by US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Leonard.

According to the statement, the fund will be for the provision of emergency shelter, relief commodities, hygiene kits to guide against cholera infection and multipurpose cash assistance for people impacted by the devastating floods.

The statement regretted the heavy rainfall and resultant flooding across the country and expressed America’s continued support to the people of Nigeria in this difficult time.
