The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service has rescued eight victims of human trafficking intercepted along Kaya-Daurawa-Roni link road in the State.
The Nigeria Immigration State Comproller Ahmad Bagari who made the disclosure at a news briefly in Dutse yesterday, said the victims included five males and three females, while the driver hailed from Achilafiya of Yankwashi Local Government Area of Jigawa.
Mr. Bagari stated that the victims were rescued last Sunday on their way to Niger Republic, en route Libya, along with their driver and a vehicle with registration number VEN-070CE Bayelsa.
He explained that the victims were between nineteen and forty-five years old, pointing out that only one of them was in possession of an expired Nigerian Passport.
The Immigration boss further disclosed that the victims mostly travelled without an agenet as all transactions were made on phone within the syndicate.
