A professor of Educational Administration and Supervision, Professor Benson Afianmagbon has made case for teachers to be given their pride of place in the country following their roles in training of students.

Professor Afianmagbon who stated this while delivering the 64th inaugural lecture of Abia State University Uturu on the topic “The teacher and the Supervisor: a gargantuan misconception” held at the University Auditorium noted that teachers’ efforts in moulding students deserved respect to be appreciated.

He disclosed that no organization can achieve its goals without adequate supervision, explaining that the act of Supervision should be handled by those who are  professionally and educationally qualified with relevant and cognate experiences.

 Declaring the 64th inaugural lecture open, the Chairman on the occasion and Vice Chancellor Abia State University Uturu Professor Onyemachi Ogbulu who stressed the need for teachers to always exhibit good character, also assured that ABSU Management will not relent in motivating her teachers and revealed that four ABSU Law graduates made First Class at the Nigerian Law School.

 In a vote of thanks, the chairman ABSU ceremonials committee and Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration Professor Ogbonna Onuoha commended Professor Afianmagbon for delivering one of the smartest inaugural lectures in the University and thanked all who graced the occasion. Highpoint of the 64th inaugural lecture was the appreciation of the inaugural lecturer, Professor Afianmagbon by the Vice Chancellor Professor Ogbulu in company of a former Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Mkpa Agu Mkpa
