Iran has disbanded its morality police tasked  with the responsibility of enforcing the country’s Islamic dress code.

Attorney General, Mohammad Montazeri who disclosed this to newsmen said that the morality police had nothing to do with the judiciary and have been shut down from where they were set up.

Correspondents report that, Mr. Montazeri also told the parliament that the law that requires women to wear hijabs would be looked at.

It would be recalled that Iran has seen months of protests over death of a young woman Mahsa Amini who had been detained by the police for allegedly breaking strict rules on head coverings. .
