The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mustapha Bola, has solicited the assistance of sister security agencies in the fight against crime in the State .
Mr. Bola who made the appeal while playing host to the comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service Abia State command, Mr. Uchenna Onuoha who paid him a courtesy visit made it clear that the job of protecting lives and property of people cannot be left in the hand of one security outfit alone hence the need for all to work together to achieve results.
The Police boss appealed to the comptroller to ensure adequate screening of foreigners before allowing them into the country to guard against impersonation.
Earlier in his remarks, the Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Abia State Command, Mr. Onuoha said the aim of his visit was to establish a good working relationship with the state Police Command and stressed the need for collaboration and synergy among all the security agencies in the state to enhance their operations.
Mr. Onuoha who described Abia as peaceful, called on the security agencies in the state to brace up to the challenges of protecting the state and its people at all times.
Our Correspondent, James Nmeribe reports that the event which attracted the presence of top ranking personnel of the Nigeria Immigration service as well as their police counterparts featured the presentation of a plaque to the Comptroller by the Commissioner of Police and a group photograph.
