The Minister of Transportation, Mauzu Sambo has said that the training of the Deep Blue project’s enforcement officers is not only critical for the country’s maritime security but will also maximize capacity usage of the platforms acquired for the project.

The Minister who disclosed this at the army barracks Elele Rivers State during the graduation ceremony for  Maritime security Unity (NSU) and unmanned Aircraft system trainees for Blue Project charged the graduants to be dedicated and focused to the task of securing the nation’s maritime domain.

He further charged the 126 graduants to ensure that the platforms are properly maintained and assure that their issue on welfare will be addressed.

The Minister noted that the MSU is expected to focus on four main areas including preventing illegal activities in the Nigerian exclusive economic zone, enforcement of maritime regulations, and security in the Niger Delta both at the Sea and Waterways.
