The Vicar in charge of St Andrews Anglican Church, Isiama-Afaraukwu, Umuahia, the Venerable Gerald Ugochukwu-Nwabuiso, says that the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world brought hope to mankind.

The Venerable Nwabuisi who stated this in a Sermon to Mark this years’ Service of Thanksgiving, Praise as well as Carols of Nine Lessons of the Church tagged “The Christmas Paradox”  said that the mystery  of Jesus Christ born by virgin Mary, was inspired by God to salvage the spiritual needs of humanity.

The Anglican Clergyman enjoined Christians to celebrate the Christmas in appreciation to God for giving the World, a Saviour rather than engaging in materialism.

He called on all to be contended with what they have, remain focused and enjoined well to do Individuals in society to always extend hands of fellowship to the needy.

In his Remarks, the Speaker, Abia House of Assembly, Chief Chinedum Orji, represented by the PDP candidate for Umuahia Central State Constituency, Pastor Ugochukwu Uchegbu, called on Christians to hold firm the word of God and Commended the Venerable Ugochukwu-Nwabuisi for his inspiring sermon.

    Correspondent Simeon Kalu reports that, the Service of Thanksgiving, Praise and Carols of Nine Lessons featured renditions by various arms of the church and prayers for God’s protection and guidance upon the State and Nigeria at Large.
