Argentina have been crowned Champions of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 after defeating defending Champions France 4-2 on penalties in an Epic Final this evening.

France came from two goals down to draw level with Argentina in regulation time as the two teams also scored each other in extra time through Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe who had scored a brace each in regulation time to bring the score line to 3-3 before the shootouts.

It was an incredible night of drama and fluctuating fortunes, delivering one of the all-time great finals to cap a wonderful tournament this year in Qatar.

Meanwhile after his record 26th World Cup match, at the fifth and final attempt, 35-year-old Lionel Messi who deservedly went home with award of Most Valuable Player of the tournament finally claimed the trophy that he and his nation demanded, lifting him up alongside Diego Maradona after the country’s first soccer idol carried them to their emotional second triumph in 1986 following their first in 1978.

Correspondent reports that Kylian Mbappe of France bagged the golden boot as the highest goal scorer with, towering Argentine goalie Emiliano Martinez was given the golden glove as the best goalkeeper of the tournament whiel Enzo Fernandez also of Argentina received the best young player of the tournament award.

The next edition of the FIFA World Cup will hold in 2026 in U.S.A, Mexico and Canada with an expanded forty-eight teams.
