The Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah, has directed Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Extra Ministerial Departments and Directors of Administration in all MDAs to ensure that all their staff not currently on annual vacation report to duty this Yuletide.

Sir Wamah who gave the directive in a release signed by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Common Services and Service Monitoring, Deacon Uzoma Isiakpu, warned that absenteeism and laxity will not be tolerated in the Service this festive period.

The Number One Civil Servant enjoined the leadership of all the MDAs to ensure that attendance registers are kept and are signed by every staff, pointing out that the Bureau of Common Services in the Office of the Head of Service will embark on unscheduled visits to MDAs throughout the festive season. 

Sir Wamah also warned that except in some instances where annual leave was duly deferred in line with Rule 13102 of Public Service Rule, no Civil/Public Servant should be granted annual leave this period, stressing that any unconsumed leave till now is forfeited.
