PRESIDENT BUHARI LAUNCHES NATIONAL COUNTER TERRORISM CENTRE.
President Muhammadu Buhari has launched the National Counterterrorism Centre, NCTC, a facility he said would serve as his major infrastructural legacy to the incoming administration to effectively coordinate national security and counterterrorism efforts.
Speaking during the launch, President Buhari said the facilities will address the protracted challenge of insecurity particularly terrorism and violent extremism.
The President noted that his administration has checkmated agitators in the South East and to a lesser extent the South West which have been experiencing separatist agitations.
He said crude oil theft, sea robbery, piracy, and militancy in the South-South are equally being addressed.
