Traders Count Losses as Fire Guts Onitsha Market.
Reports say tragedy struck today at the Onitsha Main Market in Anambra State, following the outbreak of a fire at the White House section of the market.
Reports have it that the fire started in the early hours of today, which led to the loss of several goods worth millions of Naira.
According to the report, some traders who raised the alarm over the fire said the incident started near the Gwongworo section at the White House, which is the office of the leaders of the market.
Sources say the area, mostly affected by the fire is the block of shops under the White House, where expensive lace materials are sold.
Meanwhile, normalcy has returned to the market, but many traders are said to be counting their losses.
